YOUR ROLE

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sales Manager with expertise in the Energy market to accelerate our sales and business development efforts. The focus areas include the (petro-)chemical, oil and gas, and renewable sectors. The Sales Manager will be responsible for shaping and executing comprehensive sales strategies, identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in the US and Middle East, and leading our sales team to meet growth targets in key markets. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of the US Energy sector and a prior experience working in the US. This role demands the ability to develop and implement strategic sales plans, manage sales pipelines, and work closely with international teams to ensure alignment with company objectives.

The Sales Manager will be responsible for mastering and promoting both existing and new products, staying updated on emerging technologies, and providing insights on industry trends and shifts observed in the field. Tasked with meeting sales targets in key international markets, particularly in the US and Middle East, the Sales Manager will develop strategic sales plans and forecasts in close collaboration with management to ensure a consistent pipeline of opportunities. Staying informed about market developments, industry trends, and competitor activities is crucial. Additionally, the Sales Manager will work closely with internal technical and marketing teams, leveraging customer insights and market intelligence to help shape the company’s roadmap.

Main responsibilities of the technical sales lead will include:

  • Traveling frequently to meet with (potential) distributors, sales representatives, and end-user customers, both independently and alongside team members.
  • Leading the Belgian sales team and, in the future, managing local sales representatives across various countries.
  • Actively participating in defining pricing strategies for different products and taking the lead in identifying and prioritizing key business opportunities.
  • Contributing to prospecting and pre-sales activities, while leading customer meetings and follow-ups.
  • Developing and maintaining a robust sales pipeline for your products.
  • Finetune product positioning and messaging that clearly differentiates the products in the market.
  • Providing technical guidance and support to the product development team.
  • Collaborating closely with engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams to ensure the successful development and launch of products.
  • Defining and communicating the product vision and strategy in alignment with company goals.
  • Attending industry and distributor trade shows.
  • Preparing tenders for clients in collaboration with colleagues and management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Master’s degree or a five-year academic degree, preferably in Engineering or Business Administration.
  • A technical background with a proven track record in sales management for industrial clients, ideally in energy-related infrastructure (including Oil, Gas, and the Petrochemical industry).
  • A passion for sales and marketing, with at least 5 years of experience in a technical B2B environment, preferably within the oil, gas, petrochemical, or renewable energy sectors.
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written. Proficiency in one additional language - Dutch, French, or German - is highly desirable, along with strong writing and presentation skills.
  • Experience with CRM systems such as HubSpot or Salesforce.
  • Demonstrated initiative, motivation, and ability to work autonomously.
  • A natural flair for sales, with excellent communication skills.
  • Current residence in the EU or US/Canada.
  • Willingness to travel frequently, with trips ranging from several days to weeks, primarily to the US/Canada and Middle East regions.
